Job Description

KC Copters operates an FAA Authorized Part 141 Flight School that is VA approved, and is also the provider of helicopter training for the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. We hold a Part 135 Charter Certificate, as well as FAA Commercial Tour Authorization. We are located at Johnson County Executive Airport (KOJC) in Olathe, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City.

KC Copters is seeking a seasoned Robinson Helicopter Pilot with exceptional leadership skills as Chief Pilot/Flight Instructor. This persons primary responsibility will be managing the rapidly growing VA approved Part 141 Flight School, ensuring rigid compliance with all applicable FAR's and other FAA requirements. This will include handling the logistics of our satellite operation as the provider of helicopter training for the University Of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO. He or she will also assume some General Manager duties by participating in the overall management of other Company offered services, and will have input into developing and refining Company policies and procedures. Leadership as Chief Pilot/Instructor is a must. This person must possess an uncommon level of maturity and be accessible as a mentor committed to helping others develop to their full potential. He or she needs to have outstanding communications skills and be open to inquiries, suggestions and resolutions offered from those who work under him or her. Management experience a plus.

Job Requirements

  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor/Instrument

  • 2000 Hours Total Flight Time

  • 1000 Hours Robinson Helicopter Time

  • 500 Hours Flight Instruction Time

  • Received Training in, and have extensive knowledge of, Part 141

  • Experience in Part 135 operations

  • Effective Organizational Skills

  • Superior Writing Skills

  • Proven Leadership

  • Meet qualification requirements of Part 141.35 and Part 119.71.
