Job Desc:
Papillon is looking for a Full Time Maintenance Test Pilot for Eurocopter and Bell aircraft.  This Full Time position is available at Grand Canyon National Park Airport (KGCN):
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Performs Ground Runs, Hover Checks, and Operational Check Flights on company aircraft in accordance with company, manufacturer, and FAA policies/procedures/requirements.
  2. Performs troubleshooting procedures of an aircraft on the ground and in flight, and makes appropriate (verbal or written log entry) recommendations to assist ground personnel in correcting deficiencies.
  3. Performs recovery and ferry flights.
  4. Instructs maintenance personnel for aircraft ground run operations.
  5. Keeps abreast of, and complies with FAA and local flying regulations and safety procedures as applicable for the job.
  6. Maintains proficiency in basic flight maneuvers and appropriate emergency procedures.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
When not engaged in Maintenance Test Flights or Ground Runs, must be willing to:
  1. Fly tour flights as a line pilot.
  2. Train designated personnel to conduct Maintenance Test Flights in your absence.
  3. Update Rotorcraft Flight Manuals as new revisions are published by the manufacturer.
General Requirements:
  • FAA Commercial Rotorcraft License
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification
  • Current FAA Second Class Medical
  • Meet all 135 Requirements as specified in FAR 135.
  • Pass a 135.293 Checkride in each airframe flown at your assigned base
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be organized and be able to work independently and as a member of a team with a large and varied workload.
  • Must be able to handle a variety of assignments and multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Must be able to work a 5/2 schedule
  • Successful completion of an interview, pre-employment drug screening, previous employer record review, FAA background investigation, and any other TSA investigating requirements.

Flight Experience Requirements:

  • 4000 hours PIC in helicopters
  • 3000 hours Turbine helicopter
  • 100 hours flown in past 12 months
  • 500 hours PIC in EC130B4, AS350 Series, or Bell 206, or a combination thereof
  • Must relocate within a 90 minute drive of Grand Canyon National Park Airport, Arizona.
Preferred Experience:
  • 1000+ Hours PIC in AS350 Series
  • 1000+ Hours PIC in EC130B4
  • 1000+ Hours PIC in Bell 206 Series
  • Graduate of a Maintenance Test Pilot School
  • Previous Experience as a Maintenance Test Pilot

Papillon may be willing to waive aircraft flight experience for an otherwise qualified candidate who has graduated from a Maintenance Test Pilot School such as the Army Maintenance Officer Course (AMOC).
