This is an exciting opportunity for you play an integral role in our specialist helicopter business providing safe, reliable, mission-critical aeromedical services to NSW and ACT Health.

Senior AW139 Flight Instructors / Examiners

The Senior AW139 Flight Instructor / Examiner positions are based in Bankstown, NSW. You will manage training for a network of Toll pilots and crewman. You will plan and deliver all pilot training in support of the aeromedical service, utilising live training aircraft and the full suite of simulation services available at our facility, including the AW139 Level D OEM Simulator and the CATS full crew trainer. In addition you will manage and conduct Flight Instructor/Examiner duties delivering training to domestic and international students as a part of Toll’s Part 142 Organisation and also as the Agusta Westland Authorised Training Centre for the region.  You will also work closely with full time human factors and aeromedical crew resource management staff to deliver best-in-class non-technical skills training.


  • Excellent people management, resource management and communication skills.
  • Excellent Aeromedical Crew Resource Management skillset and facilitation skills.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in commercial aviation operations, preferably in a senior instructional role.
  • Air Transport Pilots’ Licence (Helicopter) with the appropriate endorsements and ratings to act as pilot in command of all NSW / ACT EMS operations authorised by the Operator’s certificate.
  • 2000 hours multi-engine turbine rotary wing flight experience.
  • AW139 Type Endorsement and minimum 200 hrs PIC relevant experience on type.
  • NVG Endorsement with minimum 100 hrs PIC NVG, current on AW139 type.
  • Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating with minimum 5 renewals, current on AW139 type.
  • Minimum 2 years and 300 hrs PIC in EMS/SAR operation, preferably on AW139.
  • Hold, or have ability to quickly obtain, CASA Flight Instructor and Flight Examiner approvals for AW139, including for conduct of IPC, NPC, relevant OPCs and Flight Reviews including LL and winching.
  • CASA Class 1 Medical.
  • Commercial acumen and interest in business development.

The Senior AW139 Flight Instructor / Examiner positions are key management positions within the Toll Helicopters business.
