Certified Flight Instructor - Helicopter

Conduct helicopter qualification and aircraft transition flight and ground training to prepare student and rated student pilots to successfully complete certification for Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot and Instrument Rating.  Training will be conducted in accordance with the Kachemak Bay Flight Service (KBFS) training curriculum and to the standards outlined in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Practical Test Standards.  CFI must be proficient or capable of gaining and maintaining instructor proficiency in various flight training aircraft operated by KBFS.  Must be able to develop and execute tailored flight and classroom training sessions in accordance with the standards outlined in the FAA Flight Instructor Handbook. CFI will make recommendations for students to conduct solo flight, cross-country flight and to receive certification practical tests. CFII will be responsible for maintaining KBFS training folders and completing required training entries IAW the FAA and school requirements.

Required Skills:
Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
Must possess an FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Certificate for Helicopters
Must maintain an FAA Class I, II or III Medical Certificate
Must have a minimum of 1500 Hours total flight time in helicopters
Must have a minimum of 300 total flight hours in turbine-powered helicopters
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience or 500 flight hours as a Pilot In Command
Must have a minimum of 150 Hours in MD500 series aircraft or equivalent
Must have flown a minimum of 50 flight hours during the preceding 12-month period
Must possess a minimum of a High School Diploma
Must be capable of developing and managing helicopter training programs.
Must consent to participating in the FAA-directed Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program
