Job Description:
Accepting resumes for a Rotary Wing Chief Flight Instructor at our Pacific Northwest 141 Flight School. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and a team player.

Position Summary:
The Chief Flight Instructor will manage all operational aspects of our FAR Part 141 Flight School. They will be responsible for the supervision and management of the flight instruction staff. They will be required to work with multiple departments to achieve the mission of the flight school. They must maintain a safe, efficient, professional and high quality flight training program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage policies, procedures and training techniques to ensure a safe and high quality training program
  • Designate and develop the Assistant Chief Instructor and Check Instructors
  • Conduct regular pilot meetings
  • Evaluate reports generated by safety reporting system and implement changes in procedures and policies to reduce risks
  • Oversee the coordination of maintenance for flight school helicopters
  • Ensure standardization of instruction
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable FAR’s and remains informed of all changes in applicable FAR’s
  • Manage and supervise the initial and recurrent training of staff
  • Maintains and updates Operations Manual as required
  • Conducts reviews and evaluations of flight instruction staff
  • Ensure staff is complying with company Operations Manual
  • Monitor student activity and progress
  • Maintain required student records
  • Certify student training records and graduation certificates
  • Interface with FSDO on changes to TCO’s
Job Requirements:

  • Candidates must be a self-starter, able to work with little or no supervision
  • ATP or Commercial Pilot Certificate required
  • Hold a valid Helicopter CFII certificate and FAA 2nd Class Medical Certificate
  • Candidates must meet the qualifications of FAR 141.35 with 2,000 hours PIC, 3 years and 1000 hours of instruction given and 100 hours of actual or simulated instrument time
