Essential Job Functions:

Perform flight instructor duties authorized by Federal Aviation Regulations in accordance with approved Training Course Outlines (14 CFR §61 and §141)

Ensure all students understand and practice Target Zero and incorporate Threat and Error Management (TEM) into their daily flight activities

Manage daily schedules as required to meet flight hours per fly day in accordance with the course syllabus and promptly inform Course Supervisors of any delays in training or satisfactory progress

Responsible for accurately maintaining all appropriate records to include student training record, student logbook, student reports and computer records

Ensure course standards, training requirements and objectives are met in accordance with each phase of training using all available Training Management System Tools

Report to Chief Flight Instructor bi-weekly on student status and progress as required and attend standardization and safety meetings as assigned

Ensure stage check needs are properly communicated to Course Supervisors

Ensure timely course completion of all assigned students in a Training Course

Inform Maintenance Personnel of any serviceability issues of Academy aircraft

File Safety Reports as required to report observed safety violations (FOCUS) or situations that may affect the safety of a flight, intended or conducted (ASR / GOR)

Perform stage check instructor functions if approved by Chief Flight Instructor and with receipt of FAA approval (experience required)

Ensure daily flight board is updated as required to reflect changes in flight schedules (e.g. weather, maintenance events)

Maintain flight currency and proficiency as required for certificate level(s) and aircraft type(s)

Minimum Requirements:

Valid and current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate Rotorcraft / Helicopter

Valid and current FAA Instrument Flight Instructor Certificate Rotorcraft / Helicopter

Current FAA Medical Certificate

H269C-1 or H269C (S300CBi, S300C) experience required

R44 Instructor SFAR endorsement and R44 experience required

Graduate of the Bristow Academy Flight Instructor Course (FIC) preferred
