Chief Pilot – Duties and Responsibilities
(a)Reports directly to the Director of Operations.
(b)Exercises Operational Control for flight operations as delegated by the Directorof Operations. The Chief Pilot has operational control involving training flights.
(c)Direct supervisor over instructor pilots, check airman and PICs involved in daily flightoperations.
(d)Responsible for the completion of training for the pilots, instructors and check airmen.
(e)Advises the Director of Operations regarding the training and status of pilots, instructors and check airmen.
(f)Assists the Director of Operations in formulating operation policies, executes thosepolicies, and ensures pilots follow those policies in daily operations and training.
(g)Ensures that all aircraft are properly equipped for applicable operations, to include butnot limited to Airport/Facility Directories, VFR sectionals, VFR Terminal Charts and Grand Canyon VFR Aeronautical Chart.
(h)Maintains proficiency as Pilot-in-Command in at least one aircraft listed in D85 of thecompany OpSpecs.
(i)Schedules pilots for flight operations and training requirements.
(j)Prepares and maintains proficiency records, pilot files, flight schedules, flight &duty time records, reports, and correspondence pertaining to flight operationsactivities.
(k)Submits all reports regarding flight personnel to the Director of Operations.
(l)Keeps the aircraft copies of this Operations Manual current.
(m)Ensures that all flight crew personnel are qualified and supervised according to therequirements specified in the Federal Aviation Regulations.
(n)Updates the weight and balance information on the desktop PC weight and balanceprograms. Once a week checks aircraft flight manuals to ensure data is current.
(o)Responsible for ensuring all pilots read operations notices and operationsmemos.
(p)Responsible for ensuring dissemination of operational notices and operations memos.
(q)Chief Pilot must be qualified as a PIC in at least one aircraft listed in D85.
(r)Ensures that a current collection of all valid operations notices and operations memosare maintained.
(s)Makes safety recommendations to Director of Operations and/or the Safety Officer.
(t)Assumes Flight Follower duties when necessary.
Must possess a Commercial Pilot/Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
Must possess a current Class 2 medical
Must have 3 years in the previous 6 years as a pilot in a Part 135 Operation
Must be willing to relocate to within one hour of Boulder City Airport
Previous management experience preferred
AS350 time preferred
Previous Chief Pilot experience preferred
Salary based on experience.
