Base Engineer

Alpine Helicopters is currently accepting resumes from qualified candidates for a full-time Base Engineer position at our High Level or Grimshaw, AB Base. As Base Engineer you will be responsible for the day to day maintenance requirements of helicopters positioned at both the Grimshaw and High Level Bases. As such, this position will be required to travel between High Level and Grimshaw on a frequent basis.

Engineers at Alpine Helicopters must meet certain basic requirements:

  • Must hold a current AME license;
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable drivers abstract;
  • Must have Transport Canada approved BH407 and Rolls Royce 250-C47B course;
  • Completion of the Transport Canada approved BH212 and P&WC PT6T courses would be a valuable asset;
  • Completion of the Transport Canada approved BH206L and/ or Rolls Royce M250-C30 courses would be a valuable asset;
  • Must have the ability to travel as and when needed;
  • Must not have criminal convictions that would restrict a foreign work visa; and
  • Must reside in the High Level or Grimshaw area or be willing to relocate.

Examples of desirable additional qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Minimum of two years experience on any of Alpine’s aircraft types: 206L, 407, 212HP;
  • Solid knowledge of Canadian Air Regulations;
  • Strong trouble-shooting and time management skills;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Ability to multitask and handle changing priorities under pressure with limited supervision in a fast paced environment;
  • Working in a safety-oriented atmosphere with the ability to make sound and safe decisions, while following documented policies and procedures;
  • Commitment to teamwork both internally and with external stakeholders;
  • Mature approach to work by taking ownership and responsibility if stressful situations should arise; and
  • Willingness to mentor younger upcoming Engineers.

This is a Safety Sensitive Position and a confirmed negative Pre-Employment Drug Test is a requirement for employment. In addition, please be aware that Alpine Helicopters policies state that consumption of cannabis, in any form, is prohibited for at least 28 days before being on duty for all employees in Safety Sensitive Positions.
