Pawan Hans Limited is a premier Central Public Sector Enterprise and India’s largest Helicopter Company under the administrative control of Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India.  The Company is in Mini Ratna Category-I and has been making profits consistently over the years.

To associate in its growth as envisaged in the Corporate Plan, there is an urgent requirement of Helicopter Pilots as per requirements given below :-

Experienced Helicopter Pilots on Short Term/Long Term Contract/Hiring basis in the following categories:

Desirous qualified / licenced Pilots from Foreign Nationals may also apply.  Their appointment will be subject to approval of Competent Authority as per the Government of India / DGCA Rules.

  2. Indian/Expat Pilots holding CHPL with endorsement on Bell 206, 407 & AS350B3 helicopters
  3. Indian Pilots holding CHPL on Multi Engine and Single Engine Helicopters of any other type:

(*)  The Licence related allowances are under revision.  The above CTC is based on the minimum assured flying of 35 hrs which would be increased with increased flying hrs.

(**)  The flying allowances is payable only after conversion training and type endorsement on PHL helicopter.

(***) Upper age limit is relaxable in deserving cases.

Training and cost of Training

They would be required to undergo MCF / ground training at the sponsored / authorized institute or at manufacture’s place to be decided by the Management.  After successful completion of said training, passing of DGCA exam or equivalent examination and conversion training with endorsement on type of helicopter being flown by Pawan Hans, they will undergo on the job flying training as qualified Co-Pilot. They will have to bear the entire cost of training including conversion training.


  1. a)         Fresh / Young Pilots will be paid monthly Stipend of Rs. 15,000/- during MCF Training till the period of DGCA endorsement for flying PHL helicopter on their licence.
  2. b)         On successful endorsement on type on their licence and completion of conversion flying, the Fresh/Young Pilots may be considered for appointment as Jr. Helicopter Pilot on contract basis equivalent to E-0 grade at fixed monthly emoluments of Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees one lakh only).
  3. c)         No other allowances will be paid unless explicitly notified by the Company. They will be entitled for TA/DA as applicable to E-0 category of executives of the Company.
  4. d)            On successful completion of  500 hrs of flying experience or two years with minimum 250 hours of flying whichever is earlier on PHL helicopter and final assessment by the Company, they may be considered for appointment as Pilot ‘A’ on contract (equivalent to E-1) with applicable emoluments and flying related allowances.

Service Agreement Bond

At the time of joining for MCF, they will be required to execute a Bond of Rs.25,50,000/- (Rupees twenty five lacs and fifty thousand only) along with two sureties to undertake MCF, pass DGCA Exam., undergo conversion training and thereafter serve the Company for a period of 10 (ten) years.  They are required to abide by any other terms and conditions including condition of giving fixed deposit in favour of the pilot with lien with Pawan Hans for a suitable amount that would be decided for the contractual pilots from time to time.

In case they fail to pass the DGCA exam or equivalent exam within a period of six months, their appointment shall be terminated with immediate effect without any notice period.

The Helicopter Pilots considered / shortlisted by the Selection Committee shall be intimated by mail.  However, offer of appointment shall be issued to them after submission of an Undertaking / Willingness that in the event of issue of offer of appointment by Pawan Hans Ltd for post of Helicopter Pilot on regular / contractual basis, he/she is available to PHL for joining along with tentative date for the same.

Financial Assistance

On request of Fresh / Young Pilot, Company may consider granting them a loan upto 50% of training & conversion cost limited to Rs. 10.00 lakhs recoverable from monthly emoluments of Young / Fresh Pilots in 120 EMI (10 years) with simple interest @ 10% p.a. on submission of Loan Agreement with two Sureties as Guarantor.

The above eligibility is subject to accident / incident free flying record.

The period of contract would be for a short / long duration on negotiable terms.  The duration of contract would be extendable depending upon the requirement of the Company to meet its business commitment.

General Conditions

  • The Pawan Hans Limited Management reserves the right
  1. i) to consider only those candidates who according to its decision rank high in terms of eligibility criteria and mere eligibility will not confer any right for being interviewed.
  2. ii) to restrict the number of applicants for interview depending upon the level of response.

iii) to reject any application, cancel the post/s or candidature without assigning any reasons thereof.

  1. iv) to relax age/experience/qualification & other qualifying criteria in deserving cases.
  • Candidates working in Public Sector / Government Organizations etc. should apply through proper channel or produce NOC at the time of Interview.
  • It is incumbent upon the candidate to go through the advertisement carefully and clear all doubts / queries before interview / selection.
  • While applying for the post/attending the interview, the applicant should ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility and other norms mentioned above, as on the specified dates and that the particulars furnished are correct in all respects. If at any stage of recruitment, it is detected that a candidate has furnished any incorrect/false information or has suppressed fact(s) to become eligible, his/her candidature will stand cancelled automatically. If any deviation/ shortfall(s) in requisite criteria is/are detected even after his/her appointment, his or her service is liable to be terminated without any notice.
  • In case any ambiguity/dispute arises on account of interpretation in versions other than English, English version will prevail.
  • Candidate should note that the onus of proving the correctness and authenticity of the details provided in the application is on him/her.
  • All appointments will be subject to medical fitness as per PHL rules.
  • No correspondence will be entertained from candidates who have not been shortlisted / selected.
  • Outstation candidates attending interview will be reimbursed AC-II Rail fare by shortest route subject to production of proof. However, they should produce all original documents including proof of qualification/s, flying experience, licence, medical, pay / CTC, reservation, etc., at the time of interview, failing which such candidate will not be permitted to appear for the interview and travelling allowance will not be reimbursed.
  • The advertisement can be withdrawn at any time and vacancies advertised may be increased/ decreased at the discretion of the management without assigning any reasons thereof.
  • Corrigendum or Addendum or Cancellation of this advertisement, if any, shall be published only on the website of PHL and will not be published in the newspapers. Therefore, the candidates are advised to check the website of PHL regularly.
  • The eligibility criteria for determination of age, experience etc will be calculated as on the date of interview.
  • Canvassing or bringing influence in any form will disqualify the candidature.
  • The jurisdiction for any dispute arising out of the advertisement shall be the courts at NOIDA/ Delhi.

Furnishing of unsigned / incomplete / inconsistent / ambiguous information in the applications without proof of Certificates are liable to be rejected and will lead to disqualification of the application and candidature.

Further, such of the candidates meeting the above requirement, who could not apply online may download Application Blank Form the website www.pawanhans.co.in and send it duly filled in affixing a recent passport size photograph accompanied with copies of self attested testimonials in support of age, caste/class, qualification, flying experience, licence, medical, pay/CTC etc and Demand Draft of Rs. 295/- (Rupees two hundred and ninety five only) inclusive of GST @ 18% drawn at Delhi/Noida in favour of Pawan Hans Ltd  (SC & ST candidates are exempted from payment of application fee).
