POSITION OBJECTIVE

To ensure that Bristow U.S. LLC flight crew members are properly trained and instructed to perform their assigned duties in accordance with approved operating procedures to the highest safety standards in accordance with applicable FAA regulations as well as to coordinate with Technical and other Department Training needs to ensure Bristow US LLC training needs are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with Company Policy Manual, Operations Manual, FARs, and all company rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Plan and supervise all flight and ground training of all flight crewmembers including: initial, recurrent, transition, differences and upgrade training.
  • Recommended minimum pre-employment qualifications for all flight crewmembers.
  • Review and recommend for employment all applicants for flight crewmember positions.
  • Maintain all required pilot flight records in accordance with company policy and FAA requirements.
  • Remain informed of the latest developments within the business aviation community, including the FARs, and other Federal, state, local and foreign regulations affecting operations.
  • Revise and update company flight training manuals and procedures in coordination with the Training Department.
  • Recommend changes to the company flight operations manuals and procedures and distribution thereof.
  • Prepare all flight operation reports required by governmental agencies.
  • Maintain liaison with FAA and obtain all required FAA approvals for flight operations.
  • Maintain flight safety and standardization of flight procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Manager of Quality & Safety on all aircraft accidents/incidents involving company aircraft and prepare the required reports.
  • Coordinate technical training requirements and assist Chief Inspector in meeting technical training requirements.
  • Participate in Safety Management System (SMS) activities to include supporting and promoting the safety culture, reporting all aviation safety-related issues, and adhering to the processes related to accomplishing SMS goals.
  • Bristow’s TSA Aircraft Operator Security Coordinator (AOSC)
  • Bristow’s Cockpit Access Security System (CASS) Administrator
  • MEL administrator
  • An integral member of the pilot union negotiations team.
  • Work closely with the HR Manager on union grievance resolution processes including SBA and arbitrations.
  • Safety sensitive position – DOT Regulated.
  • The duties, roles, responsibilities of the Chief Pilot role may change as the company’s integration strategy continues.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

  • High School diploma or equivalent required with 8-10 years’ related work experience in a similar role;
  • College Degree Preferred
  • Commercial Pilot – Rotorcraft- Helicopter; Instrument-Helicopter
  • Second Class Medical Certificate
  • Meets current FAR 119.69/71 requirements
