The Contract & Charter Division
Hillsboro Aviation’s contract & charter division specializes in utility, executive charter, tours and excursions, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Our utility focus includes natural resources, aerial survey, firefighting, construction, film/photo/news, and heli-skiing. We have flown over 1.2 million hours and conducted missions ranging from firefighting to oil exploration and LiDAR to agriculture. Our fleet is comprised of the Bell 205A1++, Bell 407, Airbus AS350B3e, Bell 206, and Beechcraft King Air series.

The Position
As a utility helicopter pilot with Hillsboro Aviation, you will work closely with the contract and charter division and will report to the chief pilot. The ideal candidates are effective communicators; critical thinkers; maintain a critical eye for detail and organization; take ownership of their responsibilities; and value a strong work ethic with a positive attitude.

Job Responsibilities
Hillsboro Aviation flight activities are: firefighting, construction, gas and power-line patrols, heli-ski, search and rescue, fish and game surveys, natural resources and scientific support, Christmas tree and bough harvest, film and photo flights as well as local tours. The majority of those activities requires the capability to carry external loads with lines up to 250 feet. With support from the office, the pilots are responsible to organize and manage the daily requirements of the job in hand representing Hillsboro Aviation in a professional manner. This includes the courteous interaction with our client, the look and presentation of the equipment used, equipment checks before use and accurate daily reporting of maintenance, flight and duty times as well as mileage reports to the office.

Qualifications/Licenses
• Commercial rotorcraft helicopter license
• Current medical
• Current driver license with clean driving record
• Current Passport preferred

Required Skills/Experience
• Meet the requirement for FAR Part 135
• 1500 hours RW PIC. 50 hours must be in one of the make/model of helicopters we operate
• 100 hours of RW PIC time in the last 12-months. 10 hours shall be in one of the make/model of a helicopter we operate
• 200 hours mountain flying experience

Preferred Skills/Experience
• Previous vertical reference experience
• Firefighting and/or utility experience
• Deep-snow landing and cold weather experience
• PSD and/or torch qualification
• Current interagency card
• Instrument rating
• Experience in multiple make/model of helicopters we operate
