Training & Checking Aircrew Officer

Best known for our RACQ LifeFlight Rescue community helicopter service and LifeFlight Retrieval Medicine, the LifeFlight also operates a world class training division in the LifeFlight Training Academy.
The Role
We are currently seeking a Training & Checking Aircrew Officer to join our team on a full-time basis based out of Brisbane.
The role will include conducting aircrew training and checking for the LifeFlight training program as well as working as a line aircrew officer. Other duties include; leave coverage and assisting with training and checking at other LifeFlight bases.
The Aircrew Officer supports the Pilot in Command (PIC) and is responsible for the provision of timely and accurate information and advice to the PIC in order to allow the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft.
The role will involve regular travel to all LifeFlight bases across Queensland and at times flexibility in the roster. Pay and conditions are in accordance with the LifeFlight Australia Limited and Rotary Wing Aircrew Officer Certified Agreement 2017-2020.
The Right Person
In support of our strong safety culture, minimum qualifications and experience limitations apply. To be eligible you must have the following:
- 750 hours experience as a helicopter Aircrew Officer (including front left seat operations)
- Previous Training and Checking Aircrew Officer experience
- Previous SAR/EMS experience
- CAO 29.11 Competency
- CASA Class 2 Medical
- AVI40119 or AVI40116 Certificate IV in Aviation (Aircrew officer)
- NVG experience
- Ability to pass the LifeFlight functionality assessment for Aircrew Officers
- HUET/EBS Certified
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Current Advanced Resuscitation Certificate
- Understanding of the Aircrew Officer role IAW CAO’s
- Understanding of Risk Management, CRM/Human Factors and Safety Management Systems
- Strong communication skills and professionalism
- A quest to achieve and maintain the highest level of competency within aero medical operations
- Able to travel and work away from residence on a regular basis.
While not essential, it would be great if you also have:
- AW139/B412/BK117 experience
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment
- FLIR Operator Experience
- Rescue Crew Officer/Rescue Swimmer experience
