Search & Rescue (SAR) Rear Crew (6 positions)

In this position you will act as part of a Search and Rescue (SAR) helicopter crew supporting missions to save lives and deliver critical care in response to emergencies.

You will act in the capacity of either the winch operator or the downline rescue operative.
You will be trained to operate the helicopter winch in support of rescue missions, safely, in compliance with procedures and in coordination with the helicopter commander and crew. You will also be trained to rescue casualties or injured persons from vessels, structures or challenging jungle terrain and from the water. Additionally, you will be responsible to act as an observer during the search phase of any mission and to look
after and perform basic servicing on SAR equipment.

For these demanding positions you must meet all of the following criteria:
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be able to pass a formal assessment of physical fitness and be able to maintain that level for periodic reassessment.
• Be able to pass formal medical examinations at prescribed intervals.
• Be able to pass a formal assessment to demonstrate strong swimming skills.
• Be technically skilled to operate the helicopter equipment and systems.
• Hold a valid passport to allow international travel for training.
• Exhibit a good standard of written and spoken English.

This position will require shift working and flexible working times. Workdays may extend up to 12 hours and you might be required to work on weekdays and at weekends.

Full & professional training will be provided for these roles, which will start in June 2023.
