GCH Aviation Group is a family-owned company spread throughout bases in Wellington, Nelson, Blenheim, Kaikoura, Christchurch, Greymouth, Vanuatu and Fiji. We undertake a range of services, from emergency rescue and air ambulance service to commercial flights, fire and frost fighting, flight training, scenic flights – not to mention our state of the art FBO Jet Centre in Christchurch and our UAV unit. GCH Aviation is not all about helicopters, we also are proud to offer the service for the New Zealand Flying Doctors from our Christchurch and Nelson Bases.

We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced applicants who would like to be considered for the Operations Manager (Rotary) position is based in Christchurch and is part of the senior leadership team.

Our Operations Manager (Rotary) is a highly valued position, we are looking for someone with strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills the innate ability to effectively solve often complex and challenging operational problems.  The role is a NZCAA Senior person position and in order to hold it you need to meet the requirements of CAR 119, Appendix B.1 along with the following:

  • NZ ATPL or CPL
  • Single Pilot IFR highly desired
  • 5 or more years of pilot in command experience in a 135 operation (international flying experience is also an advantage).
  • Experience in an operational management position
  • Have HEMS and NVG experience, as well as preferably being instrument rated

In addition to this, to lead our Rotary Division you need excellent computer skills, a demonstrated experience in HR management and be committed to supporting the best interest of business, clients and patients.   You need to be customer-focused, able to work on a self-initiated basis, in a team environment, and able to provide the flexibility to support the needs of our 24/7 operation.  The position is approximately 70% administrative and 30% flying for candidates who wish to remain operational, including working at our various bases in Nelson, Greymouth, Kaikoura and Wellington.
