Job Description:
Safety Manager with strong aviation background and safety education

This is a full-time position dedicated to the management and advancement of the company SMS program.
This position will use objectivity to evaluate; maintenance procedures, operations procedures, fueling procedures, flight coordinating procedures, staffing and personnel as well as ensuring there is anonymity with regard to reporting all safety matters.

Job Requirements:

  • Maintain and expand an on-going Safety Management System
  • Advise the company President and General Manager in methods to improve the company safety program
  • Conduct and attend safety classes and training on all aspects of the company SMS program
  • Conduct advance and no-notice audits in all areas of the company to evaluate adherence to regulations and applicability of company policy
  • Conduct and oversee auditing required by the company Internal Evaluation Program
  • Oversee and maintain the company Internal Evaluation program
  • Plan, schedule, conduct and document companywide safety meetings and work with various department heads for more specific safety meetings
  • Track and work with our Safety Performance Indicators to meet the company Safety Performance Targets
  • Coordinate with corporate Director of Safety for the purpose of information sharing and maintaining communications
  • Maintain the safety reporting program and safety incentive program.
  • Review all reports and coordinate with Corporate Director of Safety, General Manager and/or Corporate President for corrective actions and safety solutions
  • Coordinate with Director of Operations to maintain the Emergency Action Plan
  • Establish and maintain liaison with aviation safety management personnel at member organizations, manufacturers, government agencies, other air carriers and any other safety related organizations
  • Work closely with company management with regards to all safety issues
  • Become familiar with the maintenance requirements and operational detail required for safe operation of company aircraft
  • Be familiar with all applications and regulations pertaining to company maintenance and operations including waivers and restrictions
  • Be responsible for ensuring all clients receive safety education
  • Travel to remote locations to conduct safety audits of customer facilities and procedures directly related to our operations Knowledge: It is desirable that the
