Job Description:
HeloAir, Inc is seeking a Light Helicopter Mechanic with an A&P license to join our growing team of maintenance technicians. Preference will be given to applicants with prior Bell 206 B, L and 407 experience. Applicants who have been carded or are currently carded with the United States Forestry Service (USFS) or the Department of the Interior (DOI) are strongly encouraged to apply. This position will require some travel, most of which is scheduled in advance. Eligible individuals are expected to be able to work remotely in the field environment.

HeloAir, Inc specializes in aerial wildland firefighting, powerline, gas and oil pipeline patrol and numerous special projects. The HeloAir fleet is comprised of Bell Helicopters models 206B3 (Jet Ranger), 206L3/4 (Long Ranger), 407, 407GXi and 407HP.

HeloAir, Inc. is looking for full time employees at our Richmond, VA main base and will also consider applicants interested in working USFS contracts only. This can be discussed during the application process.

Job Requirements:

  • Applicants must have the ability to work scheduled 12-day rotations away from base to cover USFS contracts. These rotations are scheduled well in advance and are during the fire season.
  • Applicants that are hired for full time employment are required to work with the maintenance team at our Richmond, VA facility.
  • Maintenance technicians at HeloAir, Inc. are expected to perform their jobs to the highest standards. HeloAir, Inc. is a Part 135 operator, we have also achieved an ISBAO stage 3 rating, we participate in a SMS program and encourage everyone to report safety concerns.
  • Technicians are expected to be proficient in the Bell light series helicopters, 206B3, 206L3/4 and 407, 407GXi and 407HP helicopters.
  • Technicians are expected to learn and be proficient in the Rolls-Royce 250 series (C20, C30, C47) turbine engines.
  • Technicians will also learn the Honeywell HTS-900 engine installed in the 407 Eagle HP series.
  • Eligible applicants must be willing to work as part of a highly skilled maintenance team.

Qualifications/Licenses:

  • Valid FAA A&P Certificate issued at least 12 months prior to the application date for maintenance at our Richmond, VA facility.
  • A minimum of 24 months with your A&P license, a minimum of 24 months on Bell 407 helicopters and verifiable field experience if applying for USFS field work.
  • Inspection Authorization is not required but will be considered a bonus in determining pay rate.
  • Avionics/Electrical experience is not required but will be considered a bonus in determining pay rate.
