Job Description:
Hillcrest Aircraft is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Avionic Technician to manage our avionics shop. As the Lead Avionic Technician, you will be responsible for leading and supervising a team of avionic technicians and ensuring that they meet or exceed customer expectations for service and quality. You will also be responsible for providing hands-on support, troubleshooting and repair expertise, and technical guidance to the team.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and mentor avionic technicians to ensure high-quality workmanship and timely completion of tasks.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and repair expertise to the team to diagnose and repair avionics systems and components.
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and installation of avionics systems, including communication, navigation, and flight control systems.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements in the avionics industry.
- Communicate regularly with customers to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, checklists, and other documentation to ensure consistency and efficiency in the shop.
- Manage inventory levels, order parts and supplies, and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations and ensure that the team does the same.

Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with an avionics certification or degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in avionics maintenance, repair, and installation.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading a team of technicians.
- Excellent technical skills and expertise in diagnosing and repairing avionics systems and components.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in using a variety of tools and equipment, including hand and power tools, test equipment, and diagnostic software.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and requirements for avionics maintenance and repair.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
