Job Description

Lake Superior Helicopters is looking for a CFII who is interesting in flying at a busy operation where you can advance your career. The primary duty is flight instruction which will include VFR, IFR, and External Load! Company paid training for all courses. Additionally, you will be flying tours in the local area. When you achieve the minimums for 135 you will be slated to join the 135 training program and become a 135-charter pilot for our organization. Upon reaching 500+ total time with our organization you will also receive an opportunity to get trained in on turbine helicopters. Most flight training is conducted in the R-44 helicopter with the remainder in a Bell 206.

Additionally advancement opportunities include becoming salaried employees as Assistant and Chief Instructors.

Duties include both pt. 61/141 flight instruction and commercial flying Part 91 Aerial Photo, Survey, Tours, and Part 135 ops.

New employees will be trained by senior staff in local airspace, instruction procedures, and applicable operations. CFII’s will be training Private, Instrument, Commercial, External Load, CFI, and CFII applicants primarily under part 141. Applicants will be able to properly maintain student records, follow through on tasks requested.

Qualified candidates must possess the following:

  • Hold and maintain a CFI and CFII in rotorcraft category and helicopter class.
  • Hold and maintain at least a 2nd Class medical
  • SFAR instructor endorsement for R-44
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrate a high standard of professionalism both in and out of the workplace
