The Mechanic III applies extensive technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining system malfunctions and guides other mechanics in restoring equipment condition and operation. They may solve complex problems using approved technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers manuals.

The position requires a comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair, and knowledge of aircraft electrical systems. A detailed knowledge of unique aircraft tools and precision tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, and protractors is required.

The Aircraft Mechanic III Lead must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers. They must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedules. This worker will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.

The Aircraft Mechanic III will inspect components for damage, wear, or corrosion, and help mechanics determine the repairs needed. They will read maintenance records to determine if scheduled maintenance checks, service, and overhauls were performed at proper intervals.

As a Lead, the Aircraft Mechanic III will be required to lead a team of mechanics, help with training and safety programs and ensure the competency of mechanics repairing the aircraft.

The Lead will be responsible for work loading the team as well as tracking attendance for the purposes of payroll. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. The Lead will report to the Program Manager and be the onsite liaison between the maintenance team, local customer, and Program Manager.

Qualifications – External

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years Aviation Maintenance Experience UH-60 Preferred
  • Should Have minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership role
  • Should be familiar with ACN (aircraft notebook)
  • Must have a working knowledge of technical publications specifically IETMS
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Able to deal with stressful situation while maintaining a professional attitude
  • Must be able to obtain a CAC card (will need to pass FBI fingerprint & NACI)
