Due to exciting expansion plans, Sloane Helicopters is recruiting an experienced Continuing Airworthiness Manager (CAM) to be based at its Sywell headquarters.


To carry out the role of Continuing Airworthiness Manager (CAM) and to manage the activities of the Technical Services department.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carry out the duties of the CAMiaw the Company’s Exposition and the requirements of Part M
  • To ensure that all maintenance is carried out on time and to an approved standard
  • Establishment and development of continuing airworthiness procedures and policies, including the approval of Sloane Helicopters’ Maintenance Programmes as required by Part MA.302
  • Analysis of the effectiveness of the Maintenance Programmes as required by Part M.A.708(b) & Appendix 1 to AMC M.A.302
  • The relationship with the Part 145 maintenance contractor(s) and establishment of a Maintenance Contract required by Part M.A.201(h)2
  • Ensure that the Quality System required by Part M.A.712 is effective in its application and any follow up actions required to address findings
  • Ensure approval obtained from the Authorities for Sloane Helicopters Ltd’s Technical Log, as required by Part M.A.306, including any subsequent amendment thereto
  • Ensure that Sloane Helicopters Ltd’s technical records are kept as required by Part M.A.305
  • Work planning and follow up
  • Technical follow up
  • Modifications and repairs (changes) are carried out to an approved standard
  • Airworthiness Directive review and embodiment
  • Non-mandatory modification embodiment policy
  • Rectification of all defects
  • Line and base maintenance
  • Ensure that Sloane Helicopters’ pilots are duly trained and authorised to issue Certificates of Release to Service, where necessary and appropriate, by the contracted Part 145 maintenance organisation
  • Ensure that the Certificate of Airworthiness for each Aircraft operated or managed by the company remains valid in respect of:

the airworthiness of the Aircraft

the expiry date specified on the Certificate, and

any other condition specified in the Certificate

  • Reporting any occurrences of a maintenance nature to the CAA and the aircraft manufacturers. This includes both Mandatory Occurrences and occurrences related to maintenance findings that fall outside the Mandatory scheme
  • The amendment and control of the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition
  • Review and implementation, as appropriate, of any additional UK CAA national requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain a monthly, quarterly and annual aircraft loading schedule depicting forecast and actual hangar loading
  • Attend a daily planning meeting and provide short and long term forecasts for presentation to the maintenance personnel
  • Supervision and management of technical services activities and personnel ensuring the adoption of safe and good working practices
  • Notify the Accountable Manager of any deficiencies that arise in respect of financing and acceptability of standards
  • Develop a close liaison with all departments and ensure that the Customer Services Department is in timely possession of all necessary information in respect of the status of aircraft forecast to undergo maintenance
  • Provide input into engineering proposals being prepared by the Sales and Marketing Department
  • Liaison with the CAA on Technical matters related to the Part M Approval as well as liaison with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)
  • Liaison with Owners/Operators with regard to concessions and variations to the Approved Maintenance Schedule as well as providing engineering input to Maintenance Schedule approvals and amendments
  • Responding to quality deficiencies in the area of activity for which he is responsible, which arise from independent quality audits.
  • Carry out ARC Extensions and oversee the competence of nominated ARC Personnel, iaw the procedures detailed in the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition

Training and Development:

  • Identify and action the training needs of yourself and your team(s), ensuring the competence of all personnel engaged in continuing airworthiness management and technical services by establishing a programme of training and continuation training using Internal and External sources, on the job instruction and evaluation and examination/testing as necessary
  • Maintain your knowledge of the company’s portfolio of services and procedures.
