Safety & Quality Manager (SQM)
Airborne Solutions is currently seeking a Safety & Quality Manager (SQM) to join our management team and play a pivotal role reporting directly to the CEO.
As the SQM, your primary responsibility will be the oversight of Airborne Solutions’ Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Management System (QMS). This role entails the administration of all safety and quality policies and procedures, exemplifying our commitment to performance standards in line with industry best practices within the aviation sector. Successful execution in this specialized field requires meticulous attention to detail, a robust background in aviation certification and compliance, and eligibility for CASA approval as an appointed holder in the capacity of SQM.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal and decision-making skills, a demonstrated ability to follow through on tasks, and the capability to maintain and elevated levels of safety and compliance while seamlessly navigating both team-oriented and autonomous work environments.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Implementation, continuing development and promotion of the company SMS and QMS, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Conducting incident and accident investigations.
- Managing the company’s Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
- Performing reporting, trend analysis, and root cause analysis.
- Oversight of internal and external audits.
- Acting as the liaison officer with CASA.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Solid working knowledge of CASA Regulations, industry best practices, and WHS requirements.
- Profound understanding of human factors and human performance issues relevant to the Safety Manager role.
- Desirable to have relevant Investigation Training.
- Broad operational knowledge and experience in the functions of an aviation organization is preferred.
- Experience in the operation of an SMS and QMS.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
