Job Description:
Responsibilities

  • Supervises flight crew personnel.

o Ensures that all flight crew personnel are trained, certified and supervised according to the requirements specified in the Federal Aviation Regulations and Company SOP/GOM.
o Responsible for 133/135 Pilot Training, Conducts or supervises all training activities of flight crew personnel
o Schedules flight crewmembers, including assigning Pilot-in-Command duties.
o Disseminates information to all crewmembers pertaining to routes, airports, NOTAMS, NAVAIDS, company policies, and regulations.
o Prepares and maintains proficiency records, pilot files, flight schedules, duty time records, reports, and correspondence pertaining to flight operations activities.

  • Write revisions and implement and enforce pilot training documents (SMS, IS-BAO, Company SOP’s, EFB).
  • Responsible to send revisions and/or most current manuals to the iPads and notify the pilot in possession of the iPad that an update or manual has been sent and to make sure that the pilot has the latest revision.
  • GOM and TM revisions
  • Work with company Safety Director as needed
  • Company liaison with FAA
  • Reports to the Director of Operations.

o Advises the Director of Operations regarding the training of flight crew personnel.
o Assists the Director of Operations in formulating operations policies, coordinates those policies, and coordinates operations and training.
o Submits all reports regarding flight personnel to the Director of Operations.

  • Keeps the aircraft copies of the Operations Manual current
  • Keeps RFM current with appliable FMS.
  • Ensures that all aircraft are properly equipped for applicable operations. E.g. USFS, Utility Missions.
  • Responsible to assist line pilots with flight operations into and out of Canada and Mexico, when needed.
  • Maintains proficiency as Pilot-in-Command.

  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Communication Skills
  • Attention to detail, highly organized and well versed with FAR’s
  • Must meet FAR 135 requirements to serve as CP
  • Fire Experience Required
  • Powerline Experience: pole sets, wire pulls required. (HEC experience preferred).
  • Precision Long Line Skills Required
  • Strong Computer Skills.
  • Experience in Bell 407, MD530F and Bell Mediums (UH1H, 205, 212, 412) and meet DOI/USFS pilot carding requirements
  • MEL Fixed wing, IFR, preferred
  • Relocation will be required.
