Looking to join our team of highly skilled external load specialist? Midwest is currently seeking resumes for Construction Lift Pilots to be a member of our crew. Midwest Helicopter Airways, Inc. has been a leader in the external load industry for over 50 years. Specializing in precision load setting of HVAC equipment, various construction equipment, as well as the occasional forest fires.
We currently operate a fleet of 3- Sikorsky S-58T helicopters, capable of lifting up to 4500#s. All our aircraft are maintained to 135 standards under our part 145 repair station. Each aircraft is assigned a crew chief and an additional crew member for each mission.
We are looking for someone who is motivated in working in challenging environments and has the ambition to be with us long term, and grow with our operation. Midwest is a small family-owned operation with approximately 18 full time employees, and about 3-5 contract employees. Tenure of Midwest is about 5-8 years, and in many cases much longer.
Job Requirements:
- Commercial FAA Rotorcraft Pilots License

Current medical (class 2 or class 1)
-
A min of 1200 hours PIC (helicopter)

200 hours in mountainous terrain (see 14 CFR part 95 subpart B- designated mountainous areas)

Operate our aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, and demonstrates sound judgment.

Actively participate in our safety program.

Able to work well with others in small groups for days at a time.

Work with assigned crew chiefs and assist in their activities when away from home base.

Pass flight check evaluations under 14 CFR Part 133 & 135 as well as USFS examination.

Maintain a flexible work schedule, be able to travel on short notice. (Typical trips average 3-4 days, or up to 14 days on fires / contracts).

Pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening.

Assist with logistical planning with customers, crews, maintenance, and scheduling.

Relocate to the greater Chicagoland area.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
-Previous long line or utility experience.
-Turbine experience.

- Full-Time Salary position (paid semi-monthly).
