Job Description:

Mountain Air Helicopters, Inc., based in Los Lunas, NM, is seeking helicopter pilots for 2022/2023 construction projects. This is a full-time position. Mountain Air is a 19-year-old, US-based Utility Helicopter company operating under 135/133/137. Our primary flight operations are helicopter support for challenging helicopter projects and fire support for various federal and state agencies. We are a busy company with projects primarily in the western US. This is an opportunity to be part of a small company with strong morals, work ethics, safety brand, and be heard by company management.

Duties include daily preflight, FRaT, post-flight, documenting daily records, preparing flight plans, W&B, passenger briefing, and intermediate computer skills. The pilot will fly aircraft in remote locations and varied outdoor conditions (VFR only). Work with customers as the liaison for customer relations—complete the company’s annual flight and ground training. Meet USFS/OAS carding minimums and complete interagency check ride as required. Pilots must work well with peers and professionally represent the company. Adhere to FAA regulations, hold integrity to a high standard, and place the safety of passengers and aircraft first. Job Requirements:

  • Commercial Pilot – Rotorcraft
  • 2500 hours helicopter
  • 150 hours in the Airbus AS350 series helicopter
  • 300 hours of external load experience

Missions include:

External load with 50’, 100’ and 150′ long line, Powerline Construction support – Foundation support/pole replacement, Core and Micro-pile drill support, USFS and OAS Fire Fighting (EU and CWN), Aerial mulching and seeding, PSD and Heli-torch burn projects, 135 Charter, Aerial survey and inspection.

  • Work schedule:

October – April – Commercial drill and construction projects on a 10 on/4 off schedule. Holidays off. Regional burn and government projects. April – September – Fire season. Exclusive use and CWN. Various rotations are available.

  • Pay: Daily rate + hourly flight rate + extended pay. Salary is commensurate with experience.

  • Per Diem: Daily Per Diem when away from home.
